SBU CI jointly with investigators exposed a former policeman being an agent of “LNR” terrorist organization.

Allegedly, the former policeman of the Debaltsevo city police unit was recruited by the representative of the so-called intelligence of “People’s Militia of LNR”, controlled by Russian special services. On the curator’s task, the suspect has been collecting relevant information about powers and means of Ukrainian military units at the JFO area as well as its quantity, staff and routes of movement. To achieve this goal, the suspect set up links with some servicemen and considered their further recruitment. The suspect had to send the reports by electronic communication channels.

The suspect was exposed in Svitlodarsk The investigators served him notice of suspicion within the framework of criminal proceeding under Part 1 Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At present, the former policeman is in custody.

The investigation is under way.
