SBU officials, involved in the Joint Forces ​​Operation, prevented contract murder of a businessman from Donetsk region and detained a head for crime.

The operatives of the special service received information that the resident of Bakhmut was looking for executors to kill the local businessman, as well as his family. The motive for the crime was money. According to the customer, the victim is engaged in foreign exchange transactions and has significant amounts of cash and keeps at home from USD 200 to 500 thousand.

The life of the businessman and his relatives was estimated by the malefactor at USD 140 thousand.

Law enforcement officers imitated the situation of torture and murder of a businessman together with his wife and son, after which the customer was informed about their "liquidation". Appropriate staging photos were provided to the organizer to confirm the violence. The customer was detained in a safe house in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 Art. 14, Part 2 Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving to the detainee a notice of suspicion and choosing a form of detaintion is being settled. Investigation is ongoing. The detection operation was conducted jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk region.
