Chernihiv region: SBU prevents sale of 70 combat grenades

SBU exposed an arms dealer in the Chernihiv region who was trying to establish the sale of munition to the criminal circles of the region.

According to preliminary investigation, the former serviceman kept munition in specially equipped caches in the forest. He found clients through personal connections.

As part of the control over the commission of the crime, special service operatives documented the sale of 20 F-1 grenades by the attacker.

SBU officers detained the suspect while trying to sell another 50 combat grenades.

The confiscated munitions have been sent for examination.

Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving detainee a notice of suspicion and choosing a form of detention is being decided.

The investigative and operative actions on bringing to criminal responsibility other persons involved in the illegal activity are under way. The information on illegal origin of seized weapons from the Joint Forces ​​Operation area is being checked.

The measures to expose the criminal were conducted jointly with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Desnyanskyi Garrison.
