SBU cyber ​​specialists documented multi-million misapproppriation during the purchase of software for the needs of the National School of Judges.

SBU employees established that the chief of a private supplier company forged financial and economic documentation to win the tender. As a result, the suspect supplied the institution with cheap software under the guise of high-value software. Allegedly, the perpetrator’s “interest margin” amounted to UAH 2 million (USD 80,000) of state funds.

According to the experts, the use of such software could have lead to data leakage and vulnerabilities in the institution's information networks.

The chief of the supplier company was served a notice of suspicion of appropriation, embezzlement of property or acquisition thereof by abuse of office (Part 5 of Art. 191) and forgery in office (Part 2 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The official, responsible for procurement in the National School of Judges was served a notice of suspicion of neglect of official duty (Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

While documenting, the law enforcement officers also established new facts of abuse of office by the National School of Judges officials. These new facts will be given a proper procedural assessment.

The operation was carried out jointly with the investigators of the National Police under the supervision of Kyiv Local Prosecutor's Office No. 10.
