New details on “Shaytanov case”: his FSB recruiter led terrorists in Donbass (audio)

The SBU CI gathered additional information that attests involvement of FSB colonel Ihor Yehorov in occupation and facilitation of terrorist activities in Donbass.

Since summer 2014, Yehorov with call sign “Elbrus” directly coordinated the activities of the IAF in Luhansk region, assigned to the militants tasks
of the Russian command, and organized the interaction between various groups.

FSB colonel called himself the “first deputy commander” of the so-called Novorossia troops. He was responsible for the coordination of joint actions with the so-called DNR Ministry of Defense, and provision of weapons and ammunition to the militants.

He was personally staying in the occupied territories, and redeployed groups of pro-Russian militants from Crimea to Donbass.

The SBU CI has established that Yehorov directly involved in the downing of Ukrainian military aircrafts by Russian side in the summer of 2014, and in the missile attacks on units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, FSB colonel was engaged in gathering intelligence and coordinating sabotage groups to counter the Ukrainian military.

We remind that in April, SBU operatives conducted a multi-stage special operation to expose Valery Shaytanov and gathered a comprehensive evidence of his cooperation with Russian secret services. In particular, he was an agent of FSB Colonel Ihor Yehorov.

Major General Shaytanov was detained and is suspected of treason and terrorist acts.

Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv extended his custody until August 8.
