SBU exposes cache with weapons in JFO area
The Security Service of Ukraine found a cache with two RPG-22 grenade launchers, four RGD and F-1 grenades, 2.5 kilos of plastid, almost four kilos of trotyl, and an anti-personnel mine MON-50, which is prohibited by the 1997 Ottawa Convention.
The cache was set up on the outskirts of Putylyne village in the Novoaidar district of Luhansk region. The law enforcement also seized electric detonators, a large number of ammo of various calibers and smoke grenades.
According to available information, the cache was set up in 2014 by militants of the so-called “separate reconnaissance battalion of the 2nd Army Corps of People’s Militia of LNR” to commit sabotage.
The investigation is underway to identify those involved in the construction of the cache.
The operation was carried out jointly with the Main Department of the National Police in Luhansk region.
In total, since the beginning of 2020, the Security Service of Ukraine has found almost 30 caches with military weapons in Luhansk region.
