SBU launches updated MISP-UA platform to counter cyber threats

SBU Situation Center for Cyber Security launches an updated version of the national Malware Information Sharing Platform "Ukrainian Advantage" (MISP-UA) to effectively combat cyber threats and share risk data.

MISP-UA is a platform that set up real-time cyber risks, attacks and incidents data to be shared at critical infrastructure facilities, institutions and enterprises, government electronic information resources.

Therefore, the platform enhances the cybersecurity of different Ukrainian government and economy sectors in terms of its functions. This facilitates public-private cooperation to jointly protect national information and cyberspace.

More than 300 users, including public and private enterprises, have already registered on MISP-UA platform. They provide information about the signs of alleged damage to technological and communication systems. The system allows the SBU cyber specialists to anticipate attacks, potential threats and further solutions.

In 2018 the SBU began implementing MISP-UA based on the experience and best practices of the EU and NATO countries. As a result of use, considering the experience gained, a number of key updates of the platform have been carried out to meet current challenges.

In fact, the SBU still uses it as an element of national security in cyberspace.
