SSU and National Police detain another three arsonists who acted on russia’s orders in Ternopil and Cherkasy
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended three enemy accomplices who set fire to the vehicles of the Defence Forces in several regions of Ukraine.
The priority targets were cars undergoing maintenance after combat missions on the front line.
In Cherkasy:
An 18-year-old local college student was detained in hot pursuit. Following instructions from russians, he set fire to a military off-road vehicle using a flammable mixture.
Expecting to receive a ‘reward’, the young man recorded the fire on his phone camera and sent the video to his russian handler.
However, he did not get the promised ‘easy money’ from the occupiers. Instead, the perpetrator was served a notice of suspicion by SSU investigators under Article 114-1.1 of the CCU (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.
In Ternopil:
The SSU and the National Police detained two more arsonists who acted as a criminal group.
The perpetrators are two local men. Both were looking for quick money in Telegram channels, where they were contacted by russian intelligence services.
The enemy promised money in exchange for a series of arsons.
However, they did not receive the promised payment. The law enforcement apprehended them after the first arson. Mobile phones used in the sabotage were seized from the suspects.
The detainees were notified of suspicion under Article 28.2, 114-1.1 of the CCU (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.
The operations were carried out the SSU Offices in Ternopil and Cherkasy regions under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s offices.
