DNR terrorist sentenced to 10 years in prison for plans to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians in Zaporizhzhia
The SSU investigation has led to conviction of a terrorist of the so-called ‘DNR Intelligence directorate’ to 10 years in prison.
The SSU investigators have collected irrefutable evidence of the militant’s involvement in the organization and preparation of terrorist attacks in Zaporizhzhia region in 2015. It was documented that the individual was going to blow up a multistorey residential building.
It was established that the agent acted upon instructions and with coordination of the ‘special services’ of the so-called DNR to destabilize the situation in the region. He carefully planned a series of terrorist attacks and recruited a local law enforcement officer to carry them out.
The perpetrator agreed to commit several terrorist acts in the town Dniprorudne, in particular to blow up an office of a volunteer organization, located on the ground floor of a high-rise building in a residential area.
The SSU officers prevented these crimes. The perpetrator and his accomplices were detained on the eve of an attempted terrorist attack. The court sentenced all of them to real terms of imprisonment.
In the course of further investigation, the SSU identified the organizer, a DNR militant. As he is hiding from justice, the case against him was considered in a special trial.
The court found the perpetrator guilty under Article 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist organization), Article 14, Article 27, Article 258.2 (completed attempt to organize a terrorist act) of the CCU and sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region carried out the investigation under the supervision of Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
