Two deputies of Myronivka village council accused of fake referendum facilitation in 2014

In Donetsk region, the SBU investigation helped to accuse two deputies of Myronivka village council of trespass against fundamentals of national security.

Allegedly, in April 2014, the deputies participated in the organization and holding of the so-called "referendum on the state independence of the DNR." The SBU officers qualified the deputies' actions as trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. If they are proved guilty, they will face up to 15 years in prison.

The measures to bring the suspects to justice were conducted under the supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.

To remind, SBU materials helped to convict an organizer of the pseudo-referendum in Donetsk region, the head of the Myronivka village council, to 6 years in prison. Another 12 deputies of the village council received notices of suspicion. In relation to 10 suspects, the materials of pre-trial investigations were sent to court.
