SSU marks 30th anniversary of Military Counterintelligence Directorate
The Head of the SSU Ivan Bakanov congratulated officers of the Military Counterintelligence on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of this Directorate as part of the Service.
‘Back in 1991, independent Ukraine was just forming its security agencies, and no one could have predicted Russian aggression, occupation of our territories, or war in Donbas. But today, no doubt, Ukraine needs a strong military counterintelligence. That is why from the first day of Russian aggression you have been in the midst of events ensuring security of the country,’ Ivan Bakanov remarked.
Over the hybrid war period, the Military Counterintelligence Directorate has shown significant achievements in exposing foreign agents and members of armed groups, preventing terrorist attacks, detaining militants, and protecting state secrets.
On behalf of Ivan Bakanov, congratulations were conveyed by the Deputy Head of the SSU Volodymyr Horbenko, who thanked the Military Counterintelligence for responsible and professional service, and especially for daily work in high-risk environment. On the occasion of the anniversary, best employees received departmental awards.
