Ivan Bakanov and US Congressional Delegation discuss issues of support for Ukraine
The Head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov and the US Congressional Delegation discussed the issues of support for Ukraine and its Euro-Atlantic vector of development.
This was discussed at the meeting held at the SBU Office during the working visit of Congressmen to Kyiv.
The Head of the SBU described the threats Ukraine faces today.
“Today, the current threats from Russia are related to the conduct of strategic Russian-Belarusian military trainings ZAHID-21 on the border, attempts to destabilize the internal political situation in our country and elections to the Russian State Duma. We have the information that it is planned to actively involve the locals of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in the voting”, Ivan Bakanov noted.
The protection of territorial integrity, state sovereignty and countering the hybrid aggression of Russia remain the main tasks for Ukraine.
“Ukraine is a young country that has achieved a lot in 30 years of independence, and which has to face extremely serious threats. That is why the US will continue to give it its full support”, said Brian Fitzpatrick, the US Congressman from Pennsylvania, Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus.
The parties also acknowledged that internal corruption is another important threat to Ukraine, the fight against which is a priority for all public authorities today.
