On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the SSU National Academy, the SSU Head Ivan Bakanov presented awards to the staff. Among them are the bronze medalists of 2020 Tokyo Olympics Olena Kostevych and Daria Bilodid, who won medals for ten-metre air pistol and judo.

‘I am sincerely grateful to every member of the staff who are committed to improve the Academy while combining teaching with practical experience and to cadets and graduates for serving for the benefit of the state and its citizens,’ Ivan Bakanov emphasized.

According to the SSU Head, the Academy remains the only educational institution training specialists in state security. About 50,000 SSU officers have undergone training at this institution.

‘The SSU National Academy is continuously adapting its curriculum to modern challenges. In the last few years, the Academy has started to train professionals in cybersecurity, strategic communications, and information technologies… This indicates that the Academy is dynamic and ready to respond to the present-day challenges. This is the basis of the special service,’ the SSU Head summed up.
