The Head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov congratulated the officers of the SBU Counterintelligence Department on their professional holiday and awarded them departmental awards.

“Counterintelligence is the basis of the special service. First of all, it determines how successfully the country responds to the challenges. Therefore, CI officers always need to be one step ahead of any threat, and at the same time - invisible to the enemy,” Ivan Bakanov said.

He stressed that along with daily tasks such as countering Russian intelligence, exposing traitors and spies, and preventing terrorist attacks and sabotage, CI has a more global mission.

“With each successful operation, we are approaching our main goal - the victory of Ukraine, the restoration of territorial integrity and the return of Crimea and Donbas,” said the Head of the SBU.
