Ivan Bakanov congratulated SBU employees on Ukraine’s Independence Day and presented departmental awards. A solemn meeting took place in the Central Office of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The awarded officers contributed to the defense of Ukraine. They participated in hostilities in JFO area, took part in large-scale special operations and counteracted hybrid war.

“Each of the 30 years of Independence was full of events. Ukraine faced a lot of challenges, however successfully overcome it. The SBU officers protect the Ukraine’s independence and provide security of citizens on a day-to-day basis. This is a difficult mission, but it is extremely important," said Ivan Bakanov.

The Head of the Security Service noted that it is impossible to avoid losses and dedicated a moment of silence to fallen heroes.

"Our colleagues sacrificed their lives for Ukraine. Thus, we are responsible for prosperity and improvement of our country. We should unite and write a new history of our Motherland," said Ivan Bakanov.
