The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov and the Minister of Defence Oleksiy Reznikov presented awards to the servicemen of the SSU and the military for their significant contribution to the defence of our state.

‘Today we thank every warrior who makes every effort for Ukraine’s victory. Our military is fighting at the forefront, but it is the joint work of various agencies, volunteers and the entire Ukrainian people that brings victory closer and makes it inevitable,’ the SSU Head said.

Separately, Ivan Bakanov and Oleksiy Reznikov discussed specific steps for further cooperation between the SSU and the MoD.

‘Efficient cooperation between the SSU and the MoD makes it possible to effectively defend our Homeland from the occupiers. Therefore, such cooperation is only intensifying. And our common results only confirm this,’ Ivan Bakanov emphasized.

‘Through coherence, the entire national security and defence sector has shown the aggressor the power of true unity. The Armed Forces of Ukraine side by side with the Security Service, intelligence agencies - Foreign Intelligence Service and Military Intelligence, the National Guard, the National Police, the Border Guard Service and rescuers, and all those who took up arms, continue to defend our land, defend our future and inflict heavy losses on Russian occupiers every day. We have changed during these 8 years of war. We are showing the whole world not only mass examples of courage and heroism, but also high level of professionalism. And the whole country is supporting its soldiers,’ Oleksiy Reznikov stressed.

It will be recalled that in just first month of the war, 77 SSU officers received state awards. Two of them were awarded the title Hero of Ukraine posthumously - they distinguished themselves in the battles near Makariv in Kyiv region.
