SBU Head Ivan Bakanov presented state and departmental awards to officers on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the special service.

"Every day, thousands of our officers serve their country honestly. Sometimes - at the expense of their own life. A special operation is successful only due to efforts of a large, but at the same time joint team of the SBU. I am sincerely grateful to all those who made contribution to ensure high results of the Service, " - Ivan Bakanov said.

He stressed that 2014 developments determined the key role of the Service in the national security system. Since then, the special service has not only gained unique experience, but is keenly aware of the challenges facing Ukraine. And most importantly – it is able to respond to them applying its knowledge in practice.

At the same time, according to Ivan Bakanov, the basis of the Service is its staff. Officers try to work as efficiently as possible in their area of responsibility.

Thus, the Service is already changing its approach to work, although it has high expectations for a new law that should reform the security sector.

"Our task is to create comfortable conditions for professional growth, provide modern equipment, increase the level of social guarantees. Defenders of the country should feel that the state takes care of them!" - Ivan Bakanov emphasized.

The SBU Head expressed gratitude to officers for their service and patriotism, as well as for readiness to do their best to protect the country and its citizens.
