On January 31, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a Decree dismissing the head of the SSU Department for National Statehood Protection. The candidacy of the new chief of this Department will be submitted to the Head of State in the near future.

Amid the full-scale war, the SSU is constantly evolving, optimizing itself as an effective and combat-ready counterintelligence agency capable of protecting the country from an array of possible challenges.

We are defending a democratic Ukraine, where strengthening national statehood is one of the key priorities. Its implementation should ensure, among other things, unimpeded work of mass media and an adequate level of security for them.

To this end, the SSU National Statehood Protection Department will be strengthened, and approaches to its operation will be optimized.
