SSU CI disrupts illegal export of military goods from Ukraine
The SSU Counterintelligence exposed a channel for illegal transportation of military aircraft components across the border.
The investigation established that two residents of Dnipropetrovsk region set up a scheme to purchase aircraft units and military equipment components in Ukraine and subsequently export them to neighboring states for the military-industrial enterprises and facilities of those countries.
As a result of the actions taken, military goods (aircraft pumps and contactors) were uncovered and seized at Kyiv Customs checkpoint.
During the searches, the law enforcement also seized over 200 items of aircraft equipment of dubious origin (starter-generators, plunger pumps, valves, special filters and other flight and navigation electronic equipment for military aircraft), seals and stamps, product passports, suspects’ correspondence with foreign customers, computers, communication devices, etc.
Within the criminal proceedings initiated by the SSU, investigators are preparing notices of suspicion of breaching the procedure of international transfer of goods subject to state export control.
Investigation is ongoing to identify all the circumstances of the offence and individuals involved.
The SSU carried out the operation under the supervision of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
