SBU CI cracks down on military goods smuggling
The SBU CI officers blocked an international channel of smuggling of Russian military goods via Ukraine and prevented their further entering into countries sanctioned by the United Nations Security Council.
Moreover, the law enforcement documented and suppressed illegal activity of a Kyiv company planning to export helicopter components to an African country.
In order to conceal Russian origin and military purposes of goods during customs procedures, the offenders provided false documents. In addition, the perpetrators attempted to export the goods without relevant export licenses. The military goods were planned to be smuggled from the Boryspil International Airport.
Identification of the seized goods resulted in institution of criminal proceedings for violation of established order of international transfers of goods subject to state export controls.
The investigation is ongoing.
