SBU CI exposes so-called Crimean Spring activist
The SBU CI exposed an activist of the so-called "Crimean Spring" who facilitated the Russian occupation of Crimea. SBU investigators served the activist a suspicion notice of trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
Law enforcement identified a resident of the temporarily annexed Crimea when entering the Ukrainian mainland. It is documented that in the spring of 2014 he took the initiative to join the public organization Avtokanal Sevastopol, in which he assisted Russia in annexing the peninsula.
Being a member of the so-called Crimean Self-Defense, the activist observed polling stations during the illegal elections of the fake "Parliament of Crimea" and incited local residents to participate in voting.
The SBU has evidence that the suspect was awarded the medal "In the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the beginning of the Russian Spring 23/02/2014-23/02/2019" by the Russian occupational administration.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing for trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
Custody was chosen as a type of detention.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office in the AR of Crimea.
