Facilitation of legal stay for foreigners

SBU CI blocked the channel of illegal migration and stay of foreigners on the territory of Ukraine. Almost three dozen foreigners illegally entered Ukraine using the unlawful scheme.

The average cost of "services" for one migrant amounted to USD 10,000 and depended on the "package" of forged documents.

Allegedly, a native of a West Asian country set up the illegal business. He incorporated several construction companies in the city of Zhytomyr and used them to issue forged documents for foreigners: visas, passports and residence permits.

The offender involved two accomplices, who searched for foreign "clients", in particular construction workers from the Middle East, and accompanied them to Ukraine.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized evidence proving the illegal activities.

The organizer received a notice of suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.

The investigation is ongoing to identify and bring to justice all those involved in the unlawful scheme.

The operation was carried out jointly with the National Police investigators under the supervision of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor's Office.
