The SSU CI exposed a colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unit commander with the highest form of security clearance, who had Russian citizenship, on unauthorized storage of secret military documents.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the law enforcement seized hard disks, flash drives, mobile terminals, a laptop with restricted information, as well as documents and notebooks with recorded classified information.

The investigation into disclosure of state secrets is underway. It was established that this commander had contacts with active military servicemen of the Russian AF and residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The investigators are verifying if the suspect was working for the Russian special services.

The SSU carried out the operation together with the National Police investigators under the supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
