The SBU CI together with the investigators prevented the compromise of the latest engineering developments of the defense sphere.

The suspects attempted to sell classified project documentation in the field of military shipbuilding to representatives of one of the Asian countries for USD 2 m.

The SBU found out that several former and current employees of a domestic defense enterprise were involved in the illegal activities.

During the special operation, SBU officers exposed the perpetrators on receiving USD 250,000 for part of the classified information.

Earlier, the CI documented the facts of receiving several "advance payments" from the foreigners.

During searches of the suspects’ residences, the SBU seized documents and computer equipment proving the illegal activity.

The offenders will receive notices of suspicion of high treason; the type of detention is to be chosen. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
