The SBU CI officers exposed a Russian military intelligence agent (GU GSh AF of Russia) in Cherkasy region. The criminal was detained red-handed while receiving secret information about one of the artillery ammunition depots in the region.

The SBU operatives established that a resident of Cherkasy region was recruited by the Russian special service on the territory of Russia. Russian curators gave a task to Ukrainian to collect and transmit information about strategic military facilities.

In order to follow the instructions of Russian intelligence, the offender tried to involve a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in illegal activities.

The SBU investigators and CI officers documented the fact that the criminal had collected information, including restricted data, on the location of artillery depots in the region, the security regime, the list and amount of ammunition stored.

Currently, the detainee has been served suspicion notice of high treason, the issue of choosing a type of detention is resolved.

Operational and investigative actions were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office.
