In city of Dnipro, the SBU CI detained an agent of the so-called MGB DNR, a terrorists’ “special service”. The offender was gathering intelligence about Ukrainian military units deployed in the region.

Allegedly, a resident of the uncontrolled area of Donetsk region, was recruited by IAF leaders. He was sent to Dnipropetrovsk region to collect intelligence. The terrorists were primarily interested in information about the personnel and military equipment of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In order to obtain intelligence from the agent, the “curators” established closed communication channels.

The offender used his own vehicle to move through the territory of the region and conduct external surveillance.

During the searches the offender’s residence, the law enforcement officers found:

• computer equipment and means of communication with the evidence of illegal activity;
• weapons and ammunition.

The perpetrator was served a notice of suspicion of:

• participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization,
• illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.

A type of detention is being chosen.

The investigation is conducted by the SBU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under supervision of Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
