SSU detains russian agents who ‘hunted’ for coordinates of Ukrainian positions and passwords for checkpoints in Kharkiv region
The SSU has exposed and detained two citizens of Ukraine who were providing the enemy with information on positions of Ukrainian forces in Kharkiv region.
The traitors are locals who agreed to cooperate with russians for ideological reasons.
One of the agents, the woman, collected intelligence through her connections among Kharkiv residents. She passed information to the enemy on location, deployment, routes of movement of units and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Her accomplice is an employee of one of the energy supplying companies. The man had free access to buildings and facilities: using his position, he could detect where Ukrainian troops are located.
The pre-trial investigation established that another assignment of the informants was to obtain passwords used at Ukrainian checkpoints.
The enemy agents regularly transmitted all collected information to russians by messenger apps.
During the searches of the suspects’ homes, investigators found communication devices with evidence of unlawful activity.
The agents have been detained and notified of suspicion of treason (Articles 111.2, 28.2 of the CCU).
The court ruled to keep both suspects in custody for 60 days without bail.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv Region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
