SSU Counterintelligence detains agent who adjusted enemy missile strikes at Mykolaiv infrastructure

The SSU Counterintelligence detained a resident of Mykolaiv who collected and disseminated information in russian online communities on the positions of Ukrainian troops and critical infrastructure facilities in Mykolaiv.

The data gathered by him was used by the enemy to strike with missiles and artillery at military and civilian targets in the city. As a result of his actions, several such facilities were destroyed.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU found and seized equipment used for recording and transmitting intelligence to the aggressor.

The informant has been notified of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information about transfer of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). The court is to decide on the type of detention.

The crime is punishable by 8 to 12 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Mykolaiv region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
