SBU CI detained a resident of Kropyvnytskyi city coordinated by the Russian special service. The offender collected and passed information about servicemen of a unit of Ukrainian Armed Forces and local authorities.

The operatives established that the Russian agent, being the head of the banned communist party branch, involved a close relative and another resident of Kropyvnytskyi city in illegal activities.

During searches of the suspect’s residence, law enforcement officers seized computers and mobile terminals that were used to collect and transmit intelligence data. The detainee was served a suspicion notice of high treason. The issue of choosing a type for detention is being resolved.

Urgent investigative actions are ongoing under the supervision of the Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
