Cadets of SBU Academy take oath of allegiance to Ukrainian people

Cadets of SBU Academy in Kyiv took the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people. The Head of the Security Service Ivan Bakanov congratulated them on the beginning of their studies.

“You have made a conscious and patriotic choice – to defend Ukraine. At the same time, it is a high calling and responsibility. From now on, you become a part of the team of the Security Service of Ukraine,” Ivan Bakanov emphasized.

The new unit was named after the colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine Yurii Voznyi, who died in June 2017 during terrorist attack in Donbas. His wife and children attended the swearing-in ceremony. The audience honored the deceased heroes with a minute of silence and put flowers to the monument of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

“Yurii Voznyi is a true hero who gave almost 20 years of his life to the SBU. It is wonderful that there are young people who continue Yurii's business and believe in our country. We will surely win. All of you must remember – the only source of a true security is strength, and strength provides unity. You and I have no other way but to be strong and united,” the Head of the SBU said.

The wife of the fallen hero Diana Vozna also congratulated the cadets: “You have a unique opportunity to adopt the experience and learn from the best teachers. Be flexible but unbreakable. Today Yurii has opened his wings over you. You are under his protection. You are his strength!”

This year, motivated youth from from all over the country started their education at the Academy. Among them, 11 cadets are children of ATO and JFO participants who defended or continue to defend our country. There are also the cadets whose parents perished while on duty.
