SSU National Academy cadets take oath of allegiance to Ukrainian people
100 cadets of the SSU National Academy took the Military Oath of Allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
The ceremony took place in Kyiv.
‘I congratulate you on taking the Military Oath. This is a special day that you will remember for the rest of your lives. This is the first step that begins your service to the Ukrainian people,’ said Serhii Naumiuk, Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
He described the tasks performed by the SSU during the war as an integral part of the Defense Forces and what results the Service achieved in the fight against the enemy, including on the front line. For example, every eighth tank destroyed since the beginning of the full-scale war is the SSU’s achievement.
‘Every day, the SSU brings the future Victory closer. We uncover traitors and collaborators inside the country, conduct unique special operations on the battlefield and behind enemy lines, destroy russian oil depots and military airfields. Even during the war, we are changing the Service, making it more efficient and modern. It is important for us to have young professionals working side by side with us,’ said Serghii Naumiuk.
Traditionally, the course is named after a Hero of Ukraine. This time, it is the name of Vladyslav Buvalkin, a master sergeant and sniper of the SSU Special Operations Center ‘A’. He was killed while performing a combat mission when his group was cutting off russian logistics near Makariv in Kyiv region in March 2022.
Vladyslav’s mother and wife attended the ceremony and congratulated the cadets.
The memory of all the fallen Heroes was honored with a minute of silence.
‘The SSU is doing everything so that no loss will be in vain! We will destroy the enemy and avenge the death of every Ukrainian,’ emphasized the SSU Deputy Head.
He wished the cadets success, daily victories and to be worthy of the title of SSU officer and the SSU’s mission.
