Chernivtsi region: SBU blocks export of military goods from Ukraine
The SBU prevented illegal transportation of military goods across the customs border. These goods are subject to mandatory state expert control.
SBU operatives and investigators established that a resident of a district center of Chernivtsi region tried to transport 55 components for ionizing radiation measuring devices to the EU. According to experts, the equipment can be used to create weapons, as well as military and special equipment.
The man transported component parts in his own car in the green corridor mode and hid it from customs control. Law enforcement officers detained a vehicle with goods at Porubne-Siret checkpoint of Chernivtsi Customs.
The investigators of the SBU Office in Chernivtsi region initiated criminal proceedings for violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control.
The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office.
