In Cherkasy region, the SBU exposed a university rector on taking a bribe.

The operatives established that the offender organized a scheme of obtaining money from the head of an agricultural company. For the illegal benefit, he “guaranteed” the entrepreneur to transfer 15 hectares of the university land without the appropriate permits.

The law enforcement detained the perpetrator in his office while receiving the full amount of the bribe.

Allegedly, the official planned to regularly receive money from the businessman.

The information about taking bribes by the suspect from several other tenants of the university land is being checked.

The issues of serving the offender a notice of suspicion of taking a bribe, choosing a type of detention and dismissing him from office are being settled.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police under the supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
