The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another enemy agent, who collected intelligence on the Defence Forces near Ukraine’s northern border.

The agent is a resident of Chernihiv region, who organized a channel of illegal transportation of Ukrainian men of conscription age abroad.

The SSU detained the suspect as a result of a special operation in late 2022.

During the pre-trial investigation, new facts of the detainee’s criminal activity were uncovered.

SSU investigators established that he had conducted reconnaissance and sabotage activity for the special services of belarus.

For them, the offender collected information on deployment and movement of Ukrainian Defence Forces in the area.

He was especially interested in the sites where the command staff of Ukrainian troops stayed.

The agent tried to pass the obtained intelligence to russia through one of the draft evaders, whom he was going to smuggle across the border outside the checkpoints.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU served the belarusian agent a notice of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU:

• 111 (high treason);
• 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives);
• 332.3 (illegal transportation of persons across Ukraine’s state border).

The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Chernihiv region exposed the crime under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
