SSU uncovers another ruscists’ torture chamber in de-occupied territory of Kharkiv region

In the recently liberated village of Lyptsi in Kharkiv oblast, the SSU has discovered a place of illegal detention of citizens. The torture chamber, which the invaders called the ‘basement’, was set up in the premises where the so-called ‘lnr people’s militia’ was stationed.

In the ‘jail’, militants of the terrorist organization LNR and russian military servicemen unlawfully imprisoned locals who supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity and refused to cooperate with the enemy.

According to the investigation, ruscists brutally tortured prisoners, after which they were forcibly taken to the territory of russia.

As part of the criminal proceeding initiated under Article 438.1 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war), the investigation is ongoing to establish all victims and all criminals responsible.

All the collected evidence of war crimes committed by russian servicemen will be later handed over to the International Criminal Court in The Hague so that no war criminal escapes justice.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region is investigating the proceeding together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Dergachivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region.
