In de-occupied Kharkiv region, SSU detains collaborator who helped invaders rob his fellow villagers
According to the investigation, a 61-year-old resident of a village in Chuhuyiv district volunteered to cooperate with russian occupiers shorty after the start of the invasion.
In particular, the collaborator:
- provided the invaders with food and housing;
- informed ruscists about homes of wealthy locals in order to steal appliances and cars from them;
- helped search his countrymen’s homes and loot abandoned households.
The investigation established that the man had previously been convicted for burglary.
The SSU detained the enemy accomplice during the filtration measures in the de-occupied territories.
On the same day, SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).
The crime is punishable by 10 to 12 years in prison.
The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region is investigating the case under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
