In Dnipropetrovsk region, SBU exposed a prosecutor of the local Prosecutor's Office on receiving illegal benefit for initiation of the criminal proceedings on land plot misappropriation.

Allegedly, a local resident appealed to the prosecutor because of illegal seizure of the territory near her country house. Thus, the official demanded money for entering the relevant information into the unified register of pre-trial investigation and other related procedures.

Law enforcement officers detained the prosecutor in his office on receiving illegal gain. During the detention, the offender tried to throw the money out of the window to get rid of the material evidence.

As part of the criminal proceedings, the issue of serving the detainee a suspicion notice of accepting a proposal, promise or receiving illegal benefit by an official is being decided.

Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case.

The operation was carried out jointly with the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation under the procedural guidance of the General Inspectorate of the Prosecutor’s General Office.
