Donetsk region: SBU exposes cache with weapons

In Donetsk region, the SBU officers exposed a cache with a large amount of weapons and ammunition.

The arsenal was hidden in an abandoned building of an old farm in one of the villages of Volnovaskyi district. The SBU officers seized 20 kilograms of plastid, ten TM-62 anti-tank mines , four OZM-72 anti-personnel fragmentation mines, 66 F-1 and RPG-6 grenades. The law enforcement officers also seized two RPG-26 anti-tank grenade launchers, two shots for SPG-9 grenade launcher, an AK-47, a Kalashnikov’s tank machine gun, almost 23,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers and ten meters of safety fuses.  

Allegedly, the cache was set up in 2014-2015 by militants of a volunteer unit, which left the area of ​​the Joint Forces Operation.

The investigation is ongoing to establish the persons who set up the cache and the purposes of using the arsenal.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Donetsk region.
