Officers of the SBU Main Department of Internal Security jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a Border Guard Service inspector on illegal activity. Working in Zolochiv department, the offender regularly assisted smugglers in transporting consignments of branded clothing from Russia.

Allegedly, the offender demanded money from smugglers for assisting in trafficking. The law enforcement detained the perpetrator while taking a bribe.

The issue of serving the offender a notice of suspicion of taking a bribe is being decided. A type of detention is being chosen.

The sanction of the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides imprisonment for up to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted jointly with the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in Poltava under supervision of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Kharkiv garrison.
