Kharkiv region: SBU exposes large-scale grain looting from state reserve
In Kharkiv region, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an organized criminal group, the members of which stole grain from the stores of the State Reserve Agency of Ukraine.
The SBU operatives established that the group consisted of three officials of one of the state grain stores of Kharkiv region. Allegedly, during 2018-2019 years, the head of the enterprise, the head of the elevator, and the chief guard illegally took possession and sold more that 250 tons of sunflower and wheat with total value of UAH 2.4 million (USD 90,000).
The experts confirmed the lack of grain and established the total sum of budget losses.
All the group members were served notices of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated by Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for up to 12 years in prison with the confiscation of property.
The documenting of the illegal activity was carried out jointly with the National Police investigators, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region.
