In city of Kharkiv, the SBU exposed and blocked illegal scheme of real estate lease, which was organized by Ukroboronprom officials.

The SBU operatives established that the officials of a Kharkiv state-owned enterprise, which is part of Ukroboronprom, illegally leased its real estate. In May 2019, they leased to a private company plant's production facilities and an open area totaling to over 1,000 square meters. Another 700 meters were rented without any official documents.

According to the applicable law, the rental agreement had to be agreed with the State Property Fund to determine its real value. The state budget was to receive 30% of the amount.

Allegedly, the state suffered almost UAH 1 million (USD 35,000) losses.

The issue of serving the offenders a notice of suspicion of malversation, which caused drastic consequences is being solved.

The operation was carried out jointly with the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv garrison.

It should be mentioned that for more than a year the management of Ukroboronprom has been actively cooperating with the SBU in the investigation of criminal and corruption offenses to prevent and combat corruption, including misappropriation of assets of state defense enterprises.
