In the Lugansk region, operatives of the SBU detained an individual, who tried to bribe an SBU officer. The offender proposed the SBU officer money for taking part in a corruption scheme related to drugs.

According to operative information, the woman tried to bribe an SBU officer to persuade the prosecutor to close a criminal case in which she was suspected of smuggling drugs on an especially large scale.

Law enforcement detained the offender red handed after giving the first part of the bribe. The woman faces 5 years of imprisonment.

The SBU is going to serve the detainee a notice of suspicion of giving a bribe. A motion on choosing the type of detention is being filed to a court.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Main Directorate of Internal Security together with the Investigative Department of the National Police Department in Luhansk region under the supervision of the Luhansk Region Prosecutor`s Office.
