Luhansk region: SBU exposes two caches with explosives

The Security Service of Ukraine found two caches with explosives in Luhansk region. Allegedly, the caches were set up in 2014 by IAF members, in particular, militants of a sabotage group involved in mining several bridges in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The law enforcement seized the following items from the cache in the abandoned building near glass factory in the city of Lysychansk:

  • ten TNT blocks with a total weight of four kilos,
  • an RPG-18 anti-tank grenade,
  • an electric detonator,
  • seven artillery shells,
  • seven VOG-17 and VOG-25 grenade launchers,
  • 14 combat grenades of various modifications.

From another cache, set up in a forest strip between the towns of Bila Hora and Ustynivka, Popasna district, the law enforcement seized:

  • three TNT blocks with a total weight of more than one kilo,
  • 152-mm artillery shell,
  • three F-1 grenades,
  • 500 rounds of various calibers.

The issue of initiating criminal proceedings upon the both facts is being settled to identify and prosecute persons involved in the illegal activities.

Seizure of military munitions was carried out jointly with the units of the State Emergency Service.
