Luhansk region: SBU detects cache with anti-personnel mines
The SBU discovered a cache of military means of destruction in Luhansk region. In particular, the cache consisted of the so-called anti-personnel frog-mine prohibited by the 1997 Ottawa Mine Ban Treaty.
The cache was arranged in the attic of an abandoned country house on the outskirts of Pryvillia, Luhansk region. Law enforcement officers seized:
- five RPG-22 launches;
- four MON-50 anti-personnel fragmentation mines;
- one OZM-72 anti-personnel bounding fragmentation mine (“frog – mine”);
- two TM-62 anti-tank mines (totaling to almost 14 kg in TNT equivalent);
- six hand grenades of various modifications;
- six VOG grenade launchers;
- one trench charge.
According to intelligence, the cache was arranged in the summer of 2014 by the Russian terrorist groups.
The seizure and destruction of weapons was carried out jointly with the SES pyrotechnic service.
