Luhansk region: SBU exposes caches with large-caliber ammunition
In Luhansk region, the SBU found two caches with military ammunition at the bottom of dried water bodies.
The law enforcement officers found a cache in Novoaidarivskyi district on the Aidar riverside near the Malovendlivka village. It contained five artillery shells of 152 mm calibre weighing 40 kg in TNT equivalent and almost 500 rounds of 7.62 mm calibre.
The law enforcement officers found the second cache at the dried up lake bed near the Staryi Aidar village, Stanytsia-Luhanska district. The law enforcement seized 38 F-1 grenades and almost 300 rounds of various calibre from the cache.
Allegedly, the both caches were set up in 2014-2015. The suspects hid them under water, however, due to the drought, the caches appeared to be on the surface.
The contents of dangerous arsenals were discovered and destroyed jointly with the National Police and the State Emergency Service.
