In Odesa region SBU exposed the official of the Podolsk Mayor’s Office on bribery of election commission members.

The operatives of the special service established that the bribery organizer was the head of one of the departments of the Podolsk City Council, who is also a deputy of the city council. For various amounts of benefit, he suggested that a member of the city election commission not register candidates from a competing political force and ensure a positive vote on his party's lobbying issues.

According to available information, actions of the deputy were coordinated by one of heads of the Odesa regional council. He has joint business interests in the region with the current People's Deputy of Ukraine. The victory in the elections to the Podolsk City Council of the required political force was to contribute to the "development" of their business.

Law enforcement officers detained the head of the Podilsk Mayor’s Office during the transfer of an illegal benefit to a member of the election commission. 

The pre-trail investigation is ongoing under Part 3 Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Odesa region Prosecutor's Office.
