Sumy region: SBU conducts drills to prevent terrorist attacks on critical infrastructure facilities
The Coordination Group of the SBU Anti-Terrorist Center in Sumy region conducted tactical and special anti-terrorist drills at critical infrastructure facilities.
In two-day trainings participated the SBU unit, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, the National Police and representatives of executive authorities and local self-governments.
The drills aimed at increasing of inter-agency cooperation level to prevent subversive and terrorist threats, in the border areas as well.
According to the scenario, several “sabotage groups” entered the training area to commit “terrorist attacks” on critical infrastructure facilities, including the gas transportation system of Ukraine.
Due to the coordinated and professional actions of the law enforcement, they were exposed and detained. To detect and neutralize the “saboteurs”, the participants used the aircraft of the State Border Guard Service.
The representatives of the Coordination Group analyzed each stage of the training, noting the high level of readiness to prevent terrorist and sabotage threats. Also, special attention was paid to strengthening of strategic facilities protection in Sumy region.
