At SSU’s initiative, court seizes russian company assets worth UAH 2 bln in Vinnytsia
The company specializes in manufacturing household chemicals and since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion has tried to withdraw its assets for the benefit of its russian owners. To be more precise - an oligarch who owns a cosmetic corporation in russia and is a member of United Russia political party.
The company’s top management tried to hide products and raw materials from nationalization and transported the goods to Odesa region.
They organized this transportation by trucks with the symbols of the Red Cross humanitarian organization, without the relevant documents. The SSU blocked this attempt to withdraw assets.
The court has seized the russian oligarch’s cosmetics business in Ukraine, in particular:
- corporate rights in the form of 100% of the company’s authorized capital in the amount of over UAH 1.5 bln (USD 41 mln);
- manufactured products and raw material worth over UAH 500 mln (USD 14 mln) stored in the company’s warehouses.
The pre-trial investigation was opened under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- 364-1.2 (abuse of power by an official of a legal entity);
- 388.1 (unlawful actions in respect of arrested property);
- 445.1 (unlawful use of symbols of Red Cross, Red Crescent, Red Crystal).
As a result of the searches, the law enforcement:
- seized mobile phone terminals, laptops, hard drives, servers and documents with evidence of unlawful activity;
- sealed 70 units of equipment for production of household chemicals, warehouses with raw materials and finished products weighing up to 100,000 tons.
All identified assets of the enterprise will be transferred to the National Agency of Ukraine for Detection, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).
The operation was carried out by the SSU together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
