In Volyn region, the SBU exposed a director of a local state enterprise of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and three representatives of a Lviv company. The accomplices misappropriated millions of state funds.

SBU officers documented UAH 3.9 m (USD 141,165) embezzlement. The offenders managed to launder part of the sum, but their "business" was promptly blocked by the law enforcement.

The SBU established that acting illegally representatives of the farm enterprise concluded a contract with a company for agricultural services. The contract stipulated processing of state agricultural lands. However, no services were provided. The offenders entered false data into reports to "cover up" the scam.

The offenders are charged with official forgery, seizure of state property and legalization of proceeds from crime committed by an organized group in particularly large amounts.

The pre-trial investigation into members of the organized group has been completed, and the case papers have been sent to court.

The operation was conducted jointly with investigators of the National Police under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
