In Zakarpattia region, SBU exposed the head of the united territorial community on corruption during restoration of the regional roads and transport infrastructure.

Allegedly, the official extorted money from the winner in bidding for the repair of local roads. The bribe amounted to 10% of the sum previously concluded with the contractor.

If refused, the offender threatened the businessman not to sign the acts of work performed. To receive money, the official involved his acquaintance as a mediator.

As a result, law enforcement officers detained the suspects on receiving the entire amount of the illegal gain.

The issue of serving the offenders a suspicion notice and choosing types of detention is being resolved. Investigation is underway to bring to justice other involved persons within the criminal proceedings initiated for taking a bribe in especially great amount by an official.

The operation was carried out jointly with the Main National Police Department in Zakarpattia region under the legal supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
